Updated!!!Bath & Body Works Coupons & HOT Deal!

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Thank you for visiting SisterlySavings. Subscribe for FREE by Email or RSS Feed to get the latest deals & freebies!

Bath & Body works is one of the most popular Christmas Presents to give, and while they can be expensive, you don’t have to sacrifice a lot of money to get some really great gifts when you have a plan!

During the year, Bath & Body Works offers lots of coupons for Free Products when you buy X amount. If you wait for a sale and combine the Freebie Coupons, you can have yourself an inexpensive gift basket for the simple price of 1 product for at least 3 people!

So far I was able to take advantage of the $3 Antibacterial Soaps:

I bought 4 Soaps in 1 transaction for $12
I also got a matching Body Lotion to 1 of the Soaps Free with printable coupon.

For $12, I can give 2 people on my list, 2 Antibacterial Soaps each in a small gift bag, plus 1 other person will get the Body lotion with an added filler item (which of course I will have gotten for Free at CVS!).

When you break down the cost, the antibacterial soaps are regularly priced at $5 each. The Body Lotion is Regluarly priced at $12.50. Total Savings for me: $20.50!

Of course, I also use the GiftCards that I purchase for $5 less than the actual value of the card (that’s a Free $5!) So I really wind up paying only $7 for this order!

With a little bit of patience and planning, there are a few bargains that can be had! Here’s a small list list of some coupons from B&BW to help you get started:

Earn a $20 Amazon.com Gift Certificate

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

If you are looking to earn some extra Holiday Cash (aren’t we all), here is an easy way to earn yourself an online GC to Amazon.com. It does require some work on your part, but for a few minutes a day, I can see no better way than to earn Free Money!

Simply sign up for MojoPages, write reviews and participate in the community .Then at the end of the month, they’ll send you your $20 Amazon gift code!

Of course, there are some guidelines that you must follow:

Mojo Insider Program Rules
In order to receive your $20 gift certificate to Amazon.com, you must complete the following by the end of each calendar month:

  1. Complete your profile and upload a photo of yourself.
  2. Write 20 reviews on 20 different businesses (maximum of 10 restaurants for every 20 reviews).
  3. Each review must contain a minimum of 100 words (see tips for writing a great review below).
  4. Five out of every 20 reviews must include a photo or video.
  5. Submit 10 Conversation posts (responses and/or topics).
  6. Limit one $20 Amazon gift card per month.

Once I signed up and completed my profile, I was able to start a review right away, which I didn’t do just yet. It also seems that the reviews must be for businesses in your area that you frequent. I am still looking into it, but I wanted to give everyone a heads up!

If you are already a  part of theis review site, please share with us as to how it works. I will update this post as I get more info!!

This was a deal I got into last year, and I’m so glad to see that they are having again, although it is a little different this time! The Glade Candles make great Teachers/Co Workers  Gifts! I was able to stock up that I still had many candle sets left after Christmas, lol!

Mercedes at Money Common Sense came up with a great Scenario:

Buy 4 Glade products @ $2.50 ea
= $10

Use B1G1F Printable
= $5 , Get a $5 Target giftCard Back!

The Glade products become free after Coupon & GC! Now you can use that same GC and reuse again for the same deal and it becomes totally free! Rinse, Repeat, Reuse!

A Few Notes:

  • You can purchase any Holiday Glade products w/this offer
  • Limit 1 Offer per Customer
  • Initially as part of the deal, you had to buy an “In Style magazine” as part of the promotion. But some people are reporting that their store tags don’t mention magazine purchase and they have gotten the gift card without the magazine purchase.

Halloween Party Recipes

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Throw some candy corn into a dish and set out a bowl of apples and you’re all set for a Halloween party.  Right?  It could be that easy, but why not add some creativity this Halloween with the following fun kids Halloween recipes.

Halloween parties are a great excuse to be creative and make some scary but tasty treats.  There will be plenty of candy floating around; so you can balance things a bit with some healthy snacks.

Kids young and old get a kick out of eating Eyeballs.  Slice some cherry tomatoes, followed by a dollop of cream cheese and top with a sliced black olive for a delicious one eyed snack!

How about making Brain Dip?

Mix:
 3 cups low-fat yogurt
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup peach jam
1 tbsp. orange juice
1/2 tsp. to 1 tbsp. mild curry powder
1/2 tsp. white pepper

Serve with raw vegetables or crackers.

Of course you’ll need some Bug Juice to wash down your ghoulish munchies.

Mix:
2 10-oz. pkgs. frozen strawberries, defrosted
1 6-oz. can lemonade concentrate, thawed
1 quart ginger ale
2 cups raisins
6 gummy worms

1. Mix the strawberries and lemonade concentrate in a blender until smooth and thick.

2. Gradually add ginger ale.

3. Transfer the beverage to a punch bowl. Stir in any remaining ginger ale and the raisins. Place the gummy worms on the rim of the bowl for a swampy effect. Makes 10 creepy servings.

Some may like the gummy worms, but how many will ask for more Worms on a Bun?

You’ll need:  Hot dogs, Hamburger buns and some Ketchup.
Cut the hot dogs into thin slices and score the edges (about three cuts per slice).  Boil or microwave until the slices curl like wiggly worms. Serve three or four worms to a bun. For an extra-icky touch, add a few squiggles of ketchup.  Ewwww!

If that’s not gory enough for you then make some Creepy Witches’ Fingers.  This recipe for these creepy cookies makes approximately 60 fingers!

1 cup softened butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp Almond extract
1 tsp Vanilla
2 2/3 cups wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup almonds, whole blanched
1 Tube red decorator gel

Cream together butter, sugar, egg, almond extract and vanilla. Mix in sifted flour, baking soda, and salt. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes. Working with one quarter of the dough at a time and keeping remainder refrigerated, roll heaping teaspoonful of dough into finger shape for each cookie. Press almond firmly into 1 end for nail. Squeeze in the center of the finger to create knuckle shape; you can also puff it out rather than squeeze it in for the knuckle effect. Using paring knife, make slashes in several places to form knuckle.  Use your own hand as a guide.

Place on lightly greased baking sheets; bake in 325* oven for 20-25 minutes or until pale golden. Let cool for 3 minutes. Lift up almond; squeeze red decorator gel onto nail bed and press almond back in place, so gel oozes out from underneath. You can also make slashes in the finger and fill them with “blood.”  Now that’s gross!

For kids Halloween Parties it seems the more disgusting the better! Use your imagination and have fun with these kids Halloween recipes.

You can get a free meal at your local Chipotle this Friday (10/31) from 6pm-close. You need to be dressed up like any item on the menu (salad, burrito, taco, etc.).
