It’s almost back to school time and the morning time rush is never a good time for anyone. Kids are busy getting ready for another day at school, and parents are preparing for a hard day at work. But in addition to planning for their long day at work, parents also help to plan for their kids’ day as well by packing their kids lunch boxes.

As parents, we put a lot more effort into our children’s school lives than we think, and it all starts with something as simple as packing a lunch.

As a mother of three, I put a lot of thought into what my kids are eating (or at least I try to!), and I am well informed about the unhealthy lunches served at school. So I took it upon myself to seek out products that I can use that do all the work for me. This year, I want my kids to have healthy nutritious meals that will last them through the day and is eco friendly.

And as if on cue,  I found the EasyLunchbox System and was sent a sample for review to put to the test. Instantly I fell in love with it! It is convenient  easy to use, flexible, and yet simply thought out:

The kit is comprised of single-lid, 3-compartment, bento-style plastic food containers and 1 cooler lunchbox.

Together it is known as the Easy Lunch Box System. The containers, which as their name suggests, have 3 compartments which make it quick and easy to organize and pack sufficient lunches for my kids. They are safe for the microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher so they are extremely sturdy and reliable. The cooler bag is small, yet roomy re made of the highest quality 300D Polyester for premium durability and toughness. They are also Vinyl free (PVC free) & lead free, with an FDA compliant PEVA lining! I know last year we had heard a news report on the lining of lots of other lunchboxes and it was recommended that we wrap each item carefully! No worries here!

In the biggest compartment of the container, you can pack something large such as a sandwich and in the smaller ones, you have room to pack things such as fruit, salad, veggies and dip or other small snacks. But just because there is no more room in the container does not mean that you are done packing. The container fits nicely into the cooler lunchbox and there is still room to pack a drink, a thermos with the soup for those cold winter days, whole fruit, cookies, and ice pack or just about anything else you can think of.

What I love most about these products is that they are eco friendly and inexpensive. They fit right into my budget perfectly and will last a long time. Everything is reusable and can be cleaned afterward so that you can take them to school week after week!

Now I don’t have to waste money on sandwich bags  for my  kids lunch boxes each week! These lunchboxes take up very little space and yet they hold so much. Their simple and trendy design makes it a must have for any kid or even any mom. In fact, it’s so nifty even adults can use it to pack a last minute lunch for work! I am an old fashioned person who appreciates the simple things in life in this hectic busy world. I always wanted to live in a small,quaint town where everyone knows your name (yes, just like in the Cheers Bar,lol). One of my favorite shows ever was the Gilmore Girls where they lived in a small town and had all kinds of town events and everyone was friendly. It’s the kind of place I would love to raise my kids in:)

Last week, I got the chance to take a step back in time when we visited Peddler’s Village, who hosted their first ever Mom Blogger Event. It was my first time visiting and I have to say, I was impressed and immediately fell in love with the ambiance of the village!

Peddler’s Village is designed just like an old fashioned village and it’s like stepping back in time with cobblestone pathways and quaint little shops dotted throughout the village. The pathways were beautiful to walk stroll through with beautiful flowers and the scenery was gorgeous with a flowing pond filled with Koi fish and even an old fashioned waterwheel!

At the beginning of the event, we were given little goody bags that offered assorted coupons for the many shops and we were treated to free delicious cupcakes at the The Town Crier Bakery.

They had the most beautiful cakes on display in their window that were amazing!

We also enjoyed free ice cream at Pigadilly’s which serves hand dipped or soft serve ice cream and home made gelato! Yum!

There was even much fun for the kids as you will find GiggleBerry Fair, an indoor family fun center that is absolutely a wonderful place to let the kids let loose. Inside you’ll find GiggleBerry Mountain which has 6 levels and 3 story slides. Not to mention 30,000 foam balls and powerful blasters that allow the kids to shoot these foam balls all around. The Berry Fountain was a huge hit with my kids and nephew, it was cool to see all the balls spray up and out ! It’s also an enclosed area and I found it to be just like an obstacle course and is fun for all ages, even parents can get in on the fun!

For more of a hands on experience, visit Discovery Land where there are lots to do for the little ones to get creative . And for the older kids, you’ll find the The Game Room an exciting attraction to keep them entertained! The highlight for me was the The Grand Carousel though, it was a beautiful carousel and its been a very long time since I have been on one, it brought the little kid out in me as I hopped on board and chose a moving horse! What fun:)

We then headed off to Sweet Lorraine’s Cafe & Bar where we got to enjoy a great lunch with kid friendly sandwiches, made to order pasta dishes and other great fare. It was a delicious lunch that we hungrily engulfed up:)

After the lovely lunch, with over 70 retail shops, we were then left to browse amongst ourselves all that Peddler’s Village had to offer. It was such a lovely place, me and my sister decided split the cost of a room and spend the night. We were accomodated at the Golden Plough Inn and our rooms were lovely and had picturesque views of the Village at night. If you thought that Peddler’s Village was beautiful during the day, it is breathtaking at night!

As we took the kids out for a evening stroll, it reminded so much of stepping into a Thomas Kincade Painting with the street lamps and the pretty gazebo, very scenic and perfect for a romantic stroll for a couple:)

The next morning we were treated to a Free breakfast at Sweet Lorraine’s ( when you spend the night at one of their lodgings, you get coupons good for free breakfast:) and then we explored more shops and stopped off at the candy store which we were saving as an an extra treat for the kids. We did have a little inconvenient experience at the candy store with using our $2 coupons,which they would not allow us to use because they were dated for the day before:( Ah well, chocolate always makes me feel better anyway!

We then headed over to the Chaddsford Winery Shop for a free wine tasting and savored some really fragrant sweet wines. I am not a wine drinker at all, but the one wine tasted so sweet, it was like grape juice ! The manager there was ever so helpful and even allowed us to save our coupon for another visit (that made up for the candy store incident,lol!)

We finally headed home after having a wonderful 2 day stay at Peddler’s village. With many more events coming up this year, I am sure we will be back for more old fashioned charm:)
