As many of you are aware Redbox has changed the Free Movie Mondays promotion from being a weekly event to a monthly one. Redbox Free Movie Mondays will now occur on the first Monday of every month. Since today is the first of June you can snag a free rental today only when you use code FM63H7.
You know the Redbox Movie rental kiosks that you can find at various grocery stores and McDonald’s restaurants? They look very similar to the Redbox kiosk pictured below.
Well they are more than just a big red box filled with DVDs waiting to be rented; they are your ticket to getting a FREE MOVIE! No more waiting for your movie to arrive in the mail, searching through thousands of movie titles at your nearest video rental store, committing to a monthly fee, or paying several dollars per movie in rental fees and heaven forbid you return it late. Now you can get online and see what movies are currently available at each Redbox location (these are actual titles in stock and ready to be rented), grab a promo code, and get the car and go to the kiosk to rent a movie. If you don’t have a Redbox code the cost to rent a movie is only $1 plus tax. There are no hidden fees when renting from a Redbox location, $1 plus tax per day. Rentals are due back by 9pm the next evening to avoid being charged another rental fee. Redbox has added convenience to movie rentals, not only are these trendy boxes located at over 8,000 locations nationwide, you can return your rental to any Redbox kiosk! Signing up for Redbox is easy, just go online to Redbox.com and click on Create an Account. I also suggest joining the Redbox email network and you will receive a code for one night’s rental free. Redbox sends out free rental codes frequently*, currently every Monday. Additionally you can join the SMS Network for text messages, which includes Free Movie Mondays. Now you are set to hit up a Redbox location and get a free movie. If you are not ready a Redbox user you can rent a free movie today using code REDBOX.
Once you arrive at a Redbox location renting a movie is easy. Push the touch screen location for “Rent With A Promo Code”, this is located on the bottom left of the screen. (See photo below)
Enter your promo code, select your movie and then touch “Rent DVD”. Continue through the prompts, swipe your credit or debit card and wait for your movie. There will be no fees charged to your card if you used a valid promotional code, an invalid promo code would prompt an error message on your transaction.
One last thing, I highly suggest joining the following website Inside Redbox here you can find the latest promo codes, track the promo codes you use, see what promo codes others in your area are using and what the success rate is for redeeming them. Note each promo code can be used one time per credit card, you can use multiple credit cards with your account so the more cards you have access to the more free rentals you can receive. Prepaid credit/debit cards do not/will not work. You must have the minimum rental fee available on your card to rent a movie even if you are using a free rental code. Enjoy your free movies and look for a Redbox Code category to be added to the forum shortly.

Here are 2 alternatives to cable I found that we have been using instead of cable to cut down on our bills and so far, it has worked out great despite my kids previous thoughts when we first decided to go cable- less. Now they hardly notice!
Option # 1
Free Rentals at RedBox which are DVD rental kiosks in grocery stores.
Their prices — $1/day with returns before 9 PM — are perfect for casual movie watchers who watch movies the night they get them and don’t want to be in a monthly subscription with Netflix or Blockbuster.
The selection is great: new movies from a number of genres sure to please any member of the family.
But the best part? You can rent movies for free — over and over and over again.
Redbox offer promo codes for free one-night rentals, and I’ve been using the same promo code over and over and over to get multiple free rentals.
In order to get the free rentals, here’s what you need to do:
1. Find your local Redbox (look here)
2. Double check they have the movie you want in stock (view selection here)
3. Head over to the Redbox, and select “Rent with a Promo Code”
4. Enter the code “Breakroom” and choose your movie
5. Swipe your credit/debit card (in case you decide to keep the movie for more than one night) and get the movie

Each state has a list of codes that can be used at anytime not only Mondays, and you can keep track with this site on which codes you have already used for Free.
You won’t be charged for the movie as long as you return the DVD before 9 PM the next day.
You can also sign up for their RedBox Mondays text messages and they’ll text you a code every Monday (and sometimes other days) for a free rental.

If you purchase a movie, it goes directly into your Video Library which saves the video for easy viewing again & again! Not like cable where you only get the movie for 24 hours.

Every Sunday in December (and the first Sunday in January), you can get a free rental from Redbox locations inside of Walmart stores. All you need to do is use the code specific to the Sunday you are renting on. (So, these work like Monday codes, but we get them in advance.)
